This weekend my friends and I went thrifting in Oakland. I had some great find! I got two summery dresses, a pair of brown J Crew corduroys, a nice cream colored three quarter length tee, and a blue button up collared shirt (little boys). I've also been working on a dress this week with some strange farm scene fabric I found at Fabrics R Us for $2 a yard. I'm making a sweet little farm dress with a pleated skirt and a deep V back. I'm very excited about it and will post pictures when it's done!

Today I made a jersey circle skirt, which my lovely friend Julie is modeled for me. The skirt is up for sale on my etsy site, and you can check it out here. I really love the print of this fabric!
Last weekend I had my two dear friends over for a tea party before we went our separate ways again. The menu: berries, scones (plenty of whipped cream, jam, and lemon curd to put on them!), shortbread (chocolate cinnamon and rosemary walnut), lemonade, iced tea, and tea sandwiches. It was all delicious and so great to see my friends. I seized the chance to wear one of my looks from my spring line- It felt so fun and summery! It was one last hurrah for such a lovely summer.

New Room!
I am now moved into my lovely new room in the same house I lived in last year! The room is small (actually used be the servant's quarters in the house) but looks adorable now that all my stuff is moved in. It is pink, orange, yellow and white all over! My boyfriend installed a sewing nook in an odd closet under the stairs and I am so excited about it- it is just so cute. I brought my dress maker's dummy to help me with my sewing projects this year. I can't wait to start sewing with this new arrangement!

Tallest Man on Earth Concert!
Summer Birthday Bash for 50.
Last weekend we threw my mom a party for her 50th birthday. We made some delicious Italia inspired appetizers and had the wonderful Pizza Gypsy cater the party. For a game, I put up pictures around the house and people guessed the ages of my mom in those pictures. There was wonderful food, drink, dancing and company. It was a blast!

I think I may have a future in arranging vegetables. |

Accordion Skirt
Here's a project I've had a vision of for a while now. I wanted to make my mom a skirt for her birthday and use my silkscreen to create my own textile. As she is an accordionist, I chose the accordion as my inspiration! It is a wrap around skirt with snaps. I pleated the fabric and added a contrasting color at the bottom and as the waistband, and left a black surging line. I love the way it turned out!
